Skullcandy and Burton coming together was only a matter of time—it was natural. Both brands rule the winter hillside, built on rebellion and self-expression. For this collab, our Park City team worked with Burton’s creative crew in France, building off their 2023 direction “Naughty by Nature.”
I pushed that vision further with a Skullcandy edge. This wasn’t made to blend in—it was loud, mismatched, and unapologetic. One side clean and refined, the other punked-out in cheetah print. A design for those unafraid of being noticed.

I led and directed the team to lean into Burton’s 2023 direction: “The wild energy of the natural world inspires us to adapt, evolve, and overcome. Have fun in the face of fear. Rise above and stand out.” This inspiration shaped the creative approach—capturing raw energy and channeling it into a bold, standout design language.

A lot of design directions and moodboards didn’t make the cut, but what we landed on pulled directly from Burton’s 2023 board graphics on the Name Dropper and Rewind. I layered in further inspiration from our shared athlete Zeb Powell and a shoot he did with mismatched bindings. Together, these influences shaped a distinctive “mullet” style for the collection—calm, clean business on one side and wild cheetah-party energy on the other.
